The Wanaka M2M has been running since 2001 and is an Iconic Wanaka event. It consists of a 6 stage Multisport race taking competitors on a journey through some of the best scenery and terrain Wanaka has to offer.
This event is for teams and individuals who Ski, Run, Mountain bike, Kayak and Road bike from the Treble Cone Ski field to the Snow Park in Cardrona Valley.
Whether you want a big day out as an individual or a fun but challenging team event, then come and see what all the talk is about, you will not be disappointed.

Saturday, 12 September 2009. Early bird entries close 6th September. After this time a late entry fee applies. See cost below.
Where
Lake Wanaka: From the Treble Cone Ski Field in the Matukituki Valley to the Snow Park in the Cardrona Valley.
Registration and Race Briefing (change from last year)
0730 - 0900 Registration: at the Wanaka Rugby Club rooms (show grounds) on the corner of Mt Aspiring Road and McDougal Street.
0900- 0930 Race briefing: All team members must attend.
0930 -1030 To TC: Skiers and Mountain Bikers travel to Treble Cone.
1030 All Skiers with bibs on congregate at the 6 Seater Express chairlift to travel to race start together. You, must be ready to go at this time to be at the start line on time.
Race Start
11.00 a.m. As designated by Ski Patrol based on current weather and ski field conditions.

- Individual: $60.00 ($80.00 Late entry fee, after 6 September)
- Team: 2 - 6 people $160 ($180 Late entry fee, after 6 September)
- College Student Individual: $40

Cancellation / Alternative Course Information
- In the case of adverse weather conditions the Race Director reserve the right to alter the course accordingly.
- This Information will be passed to you at the race briefing at The Rugby Club Rooms.
- If access to Treble Cone is unavailable please listen to Radio Wanaka 92.2 for race start and course change information.
- The following day will be an alternate race day if the set day is cancelled.
- 75% refund available if you withdraw before August 14.
- 50% refund for withdrawals before August 31.
- No refunds after August 31or if the race is cancelled completely.
- All refunds must be requested in writing.
Prize Giving
- At the Snow Park in the restaurant bar area immediately on completion of the last competitor.
- Three persons are needed in each category to qualify for merit prizes.
- Showers, meals, bar facilities are available to all competitors at the Snow Park.
- Accommodation specials are also available on request.
- Massages are available at $10 for 10 minutes.
Support Crews
- Support vehicles please obey marshals' instructions at all times.
- No assistance shall be given to any competitor on route between stages except for serious equipment malfunction. You can only assist in the transition areas.
Emergency Response
- In emergency call 111.
- For all other enquiries, medical requests etc ask one of the Marshals who will inform the Race Safety Officer.
- There is radio and cell phone contact between the race Marshal Safety Teams.
- Over the course there is cell phone coverage for emergency services access.
- Wanaka St John Ambulance have been advised of this event.
- Local Police and SAR advised of event.
- Police support on traffic management plan subject to operational commitments.
Medical
- 1st Aid kits at each transition area.
- Doctors and Ski patrol staff are available to respond to all medical emergencies on the Treble Cone ski field or access road and on the Snow Farm access road.
Tail End Charlie
- The last competitor in each leg will be shadowed by a race marshal.
